Robert Pattinson Surprises Kids at Hospital
Robert Pattinson put a sparkle in the eyes of a group of young people when he visited the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
The Twilight star made a surprise trip to the hospital’s Teen Lounge on Aug. 16, and joined the patients who were decorating picture frames.
The 27-year-old, who is currently filming Maps to the Stars in L.A., created a pink frame decorated with hearts, and laughed at his own “terrible” artistic skills before posing for photos and signing each kid’s picture frame.
“Robert was so nervous about meeting the kids – he didn’t want to let them down – which is a testament to how humble he is,” Child Life specialist Ana Vega said. “He was incredibly gracious and kind.”
Pattinson also visited two cystic fibrosis patients – huge Twilight fans – who were unable to leave their rooms.
“We couldn’t help laughing and smiling when one of the patients was so starstruck that she couldn’t speak. You could tell it meant the world to her – she was tearing up and smiling ear to ear,” said Lyndsay Hutchinson, the hospital’s public information officer. “The other little girl teased him relentlessly and begged him to do an American accent. They were instant friends.”
Robert Pattinson Meets Rob Patterson!
Mistaken identity! Robert Pattinson and near-namesake Rob Patterson finally came face-to-face on Saturday, March 23 when they bumped into each other at Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont.
The 26-year-old Twilight actor and the 42-year-old guitarist (and Carmen Electra ex) shared a few laughs over Patterson always being confused for Pattinson.
“Rob was telling Rob from Twilight that everyone thinks he’s him so they talked about it,” a source tells Us Weekly. “Patterson told him how happy he was to finally meet Pattinson.”
The two were “hitting it off” until Patterson, who was previously engaged to Electra, wanted to capture their meet-up on camera and Pattinson declined.
“Rob from Twilight said, ‘No, I don’t like to take pictures. It feels like it takes a piece of my soul,’” the source recalls. “Everyone laughed at him and Rob Patterson was making fun of it all night.”
After meeting Patterson, Pattinson headed back to girlfriend Kristen Stewart and pal Katy Perry — his party guests for evening. Earlier that night, Stewart, 22, and Perry, 28, hung out together at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards and even posed for a silly picture with Stewart sitting on the “Wide Awake” singer’s lap.
Robert Pattinson’s Future Is About To Get ‘Really Tough’
As “Twilight” fades into the rearview mirror, Robert Pattinson’s future is looking very bright. Well, that’s not entirely true — when looking at one of Pattinson’s upcoming projects, “The Rover,” the future actually looks pretty bleak.
Pattinson stars alongside Guy Pearce in director David Michod’s “The Rover,” a futuristic Western set in the Australian desert. Pearce stars as Eric, a no-nonsense loner who loses his car and only remaining possessions when he’s robbed by a gang. Eric forcefully enlists one of the abandoned and wounded gang members, Rey (Pattinson), to help him track down the gang and get his belongings back at any cost. It’s a complicated and dangerous plot indeed, but it’s also one that Pattinson is more than happy to embrace.
“It’s a really tough script,” he told MTV News while promoting “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2.” “I don’t really know, I don’t even know how to talk about it yet. It’s one of the best I’ve read. It’s one of my top five favorite scripts I’ve read since I started doing this. It’s really nerve-racking.”
Nerve-racking as “The Rover” is, it pales in comparison to the real-life dangers presented by “Mission: Blacklist,” Pattinson’s upcoming war movie based on the true story of Army interrogator Eric Maddox, who was involved in the capture of Saddam Hussein. The role requires Pattinson to film in Iraq, which understandably made his family members uncomfortable at first — but the actor thinks his loved ones are beginning to warm up to the idea.
“My parents seem to be coming around to it now,” he said with a laugh. “That’s strange. I don’t know what happened.”
‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′ Is Box Office Gold with $141.3 Million
Sorry James Bond. Vampires and werewolves are the declared winners of this weekend’s box office race. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has come out on top, scoring $141.3 million its first weekend at the box office. This may not come as a shocker, though, as the final Twilight film brought in an impressive $162.2 million at the global box office on its opening day. And in the United States, it earned $71.2 million (that includes $30.4 million for all Thursday shows starting at 10 PM and midnight shows).
It is a huge debut for the film and the eighth biggest opening weekend of all-time! Overall, the worldwide estimate for the film is $340.9 million ($141.3 million in North American + $199.6 million internationally). Breaking Dawn – Part 2 posted the second highest weekend opening out of theTwilight franchise behind New Moon at $142.8 million, and the franchise now has three of the top nine openings of all time.
But it doesn’t end there. Breaking Dawn – Part 2 pushed Lionsgate’s 2012 domestic gross over the $1 billion mark for the first time. And Lionsgate has become only the seventh company to ever cross the billion dollar plateau. Also, Lionsgate is the first company to ever have two films (Breaking Dawn – Part 2 and The Hunger Games) open to over $125 million in the same year.
Robert Pattinson Wanted to Put Walruses in Breaking Dawn Sex Scene
Those pillow-biting sex scenes are about to get even hotter now that Kristen Stewart’s onscreen alter ego Bella Swan is a full-blown, cold-blooded vampire in the final installment of the Twilight saga.
But if it were up to Robert Pattinson, who plays Bella’s husband Edward Cullen, the bedroom action would get even wilder.
“I would put [the sex scene] the last day of the schedule,” he told BBC Radio 1 of his fantasy turn in the director’s chair. “[I'd] say, ‘Listen, I’ve got to have a closed set. It’s really, really important. No one can see the monitors or anything,’ and then just put like a walrus in or something.”
Jokes aside, it’s not so sexy puckering up in front of the cameras.
“Kissing is harder than love-making scenes, I think,” Pattinson, 26, says. “You can’t kiss like normally you’d kiss.”
Adds The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 star, whose movie arrives in theaters Friday: “You got a one in three chance of smashing someone’s tooth out.”
Robert Pattinson Was Supposed to Have a ‘Big Man’s Dog’
Robert Pattinson knows how to handle a curveball, but arrested development? That’s a different story.
When he adopted rescue puppy Bear from a Louisiana shelter, the Twilight star expected the dog to grow … and keep growing.
“He was supposed to be a big man’s dog,” Pattinson explains on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in Friday’s episode. “But he just kind of got stunted.”
That hasn’t stopped Bear from getting lots of love. “I’m obsessed,” exclaims costar Taylor Lautner, who joined Pattinson for the talk show appearance.
And let’s not forget Bear’s other owner, Kristen Stewart, who so adores the pooch that she refers to him as her child.
“Is his tongue too long for his mouth or something?” DeGeneres asks while looking at Bear’s picture. “It’s like a Gene Simmons dog.”
“It’s like a curtain,” Pattinson says.
The intense scrutiny that comes with the belonging to one of the world’s most famous couples comes with perks. Bear was once on a euthanasia list, and he went from there to flying on private jets.
“We were staying at the Four Seasons afterward,” Pattinson explains. “He didn’t have any dog food so I got him a little plate of prosciutto.”
Robert Pattinson: The New Face of Dior Men’s Fragrance
E! News can exclusively reveal that the Twilight star has signed a mega-deal with Christian Dior.
Pattinson will star in a series of ad campaigns for the French fashion house’s line of men’s fragrances.
“Rob likes the brand,” reports a source, who estimates the deal at being worth close to $12 million for three years.
Other celebs who have endorsed Dior fragrances include Jude Law, Charlize Theron and Natalie Portman, who appeared in a controversial topless ad last year.
R.Pattz is no stranger to Dior. He’s hit the red carpet in several different Dior Homme looks, including a tuxedo at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and jeans at the Teen Choice Awards.

Robert Pattinson “Really Happy and Comfortable” at Black Keys’ L.A. Show
Robert Pattinson was ready to rock in Los Angeles Sunday night.
The Twilight star, 26, attended The Black Keys’ show at the Sayers Club with a group of pals, dressed down in a backwards hat, button-down shirt and jeans, an eyewitness tells Us Weekly.
“Rob was definitely enjoying the music, getting more into it as the set went on,” the witness says. “He cheered and clapped at the end of each song.”
Pattinson indulged in an electronic cigarette, and sipped on beer and mixed drinks throughout the evening.
He “was clearly enjoying the music and in a good mood,” the witness adds. “In between songs he would make comments or joke around with his friends.”
All in all, the seemingly carefree Cosompolis actor “seemed really happy and comfortable all night.” After the show ended, Pattinson hung around for one more beer with his friends, and posed for a photo with 98.7 FM DJ Kennedy.
Pattinson has good reason to be smiling these days: as Us reported last week, he and his girlfriend Kristen Stewart “are living together and have reconciled” two months after the actress’ fling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.
Although Stewart managed to win her man back, she still has one major obstacle to overcome: convincing Pattinson’s friends, who advised him to end things with her once and for all, that she can be trusted.
“They don’t want to see him get hurt again,” an insider explained. Still, as another source added, “Rob has hope in their romance.”
On Monday, Deadline reported that the couple of three years are both scheduled to appear at the worldwide press junket for Breaking Dawn — Part 2 in Los Angeles; no word yet on whether Pattinson and Stewart will appear together at subsequent promotional events for Twilight’s final installment.
